Species at Risk Swap Cafe

David Fraser from BC's Ministry of Environment, Melissa Frey from the Royal BC Museum, and I will be doing a SWAP Cafe on Species-at-Risk at the museum tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 7pm. $5 for each attendee will be donated to Species-at-Risk conservation. Come and learn about challenges in managing Canada's Endangered and Threatened Species!

NATURAL HISTORY PRESENTATION
The Dead Keep Talking
Museum natural history collections are vital for providing historical and current data to help assess the conservation status of a species. This talk will focus on what kind of information can be garnered and how it is used. Leah Ramsay is the Program Zoologist at the BC Conservation Data Centre...but she'll talk about plants too! We meet at 7:30 p.m. in room 159 of the Fraser building. Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend and a coffee mug.

BIRDERS NIGHT PRESENTATION
The updated bird checklist for southern Vancouver Island resulted
in significant changes. Join David Fraser and Ian Cruickshank
as they explore these changes in Victoria’s avifauna and discuss
ways birders can contribute data that will help document those
changes. We meet at 7:30 p.m. in room 159 of the Fraser
